The SD-53 Tuning finder was designed for the Semantic Daniélou-53 virtual instrument. See: https://www.semantic-danielou.com/en/semantic-danielou-53/ .
SD-53 Tuning finder instantly finds which Semantic tunings contain one or several specific ratios and thus avoid the user to search among all the tunings to find the right tuning.
(Three tunings here contain the requested ratio, 17/12: lalit-c, purvi-c, harmonics.)
(Four tunings here contain the requested ratios: coherent-shrutis, gayakapriya, jog, eratosthenes.)
The program gives the desired ratios only from 1/1 of each tuning, but these ratios may also be found between some notes from other tunings.
For instance, a ratio of 19/15 can be heard between 1/1 and 19/15, in:
nila-c — [17/16 16/15 19/15 19/15 4/3 4/3 8/5 8/5 101/60 101/60 19/10 2/1 ],but also, for example, between 5/4 (= 15/12) and 19/12, in the following tunings:
coherent_shrutis — [19/18 9/8 19/16 5/4 4/3 45/32 3/2 19/12 5/3 16/9 15/8 2/1 ]You will hear an interval of 19/15 when the key '19/12' is played with a drone in 5/4.
Launch the program by clicking on the SD-53 Tuning Finder online icon below.
When the program is launched, just put in the window that opens [Show tunings with the following ratios:] the ratio(s) that you want to appear in the tuning. Ratios, if there are more than one, must be separated by a space (with no comma or any typographical sign).
Confirm with the Enter key or by clicking OK. The program immediately displays the Semantic tunings containing the ratios you have chosen, which will allow you to easily select the right tuning (and therefore the right keyboard).
